Most nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. You'll need a passport valid for at least six months, a recent passport-size photo, and the visa fee (in USD). E-visas are also available online before travel. Pack light—luggage is limited to about 5–10 kg per person on shared flights. Essentials include: a warm jacket (temperatures at altitude can drop below freezing), sunglasses (glare is intense on snow), sunscreen, a camera with extra batteries (cold drains them fast), your passport, and comfortable shoes. For longer tours, bring snacks and a reusable water bottle.
Children aged 3+ are welcome on most helicopter tours, and infants under 2 may fly on a parent's lap on private charters. There is no upper age limit, but all passengers must be in good health.
